Youth Employability Competences (YEC) training programme

adminEvents, News

Ballymun Job Centre are currently recruiting for participants to take part in the pilot of the Youth Employability Competences (YEC) training programme.   The YEC Project is built around identified gaps in employability competences in young people.  These competences are often referred to as “soft skills” but they have become better known as employability skills or competences that young people as employees are expected to have outside of their experience and qualifications that they gain through the course of their education, training and work experience.

The modules developed by the project are:

  • Communication Skills
  • Wellness
  • Motivation & Autonomy
  • Professionalism
  • Job Seeking & Orientation Skills
  • Workplace Discrimination & The Gap between expectation and reality

The training is delivered using a “pick and mix” approach were participants will undertake training in a selection of the above modules.  The trainers have all taken part in a train the trainer programme also designed as part of the project and it is designed to be a fun and interactive approach to learning and development.

We are looking for young people aged between 18 and 30 to take part in the pilot which will take place via zoom from 9:30am to 12:30pm on Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th April.

If you would be interested in taking part or finding out more about this training please contact Sandra Roche roches@bmunjob.ie or telephone 0879652034.

We look forward to hearing from you
