The Erasmus+ DIGICULT project “Cultural Heritage: A Source of Resilience and Learning through Digital Education” comes to an end, with the final Multiplier Event to be held on

17 May 2024 in Turin, Piazza Maria Ausiliatrice 35.

The DIGICULT project has the ambitious goal of providing young people with a new opportunity for learning and vocational training, especially after the difficult period of the pandemic. How? By conveying young people’s interest in digital technology and the need to learn about cultural heritage into a useful tool for rethinking themselves professionally, with up-to-date and up-to-date skills.

Mobility week between Turin, Racconigi, Savigliano and Manta – Italy- for 17 young Europeans of the Digicult project.

Two participants on behalf of the Ballymun Job Centre attended the DigiCult L.T.T.A held in Turin, Italy 11th – 17th June 2023 organised by Fondo Per L’ambiente Italiano with the Support of C.I.O.F.S and Le Terre dei Savoia. Project Description

DIGICULT offers an innovative e-learning pathway, based on digital tools and focused on cultural heritage, with the aim of developing disciplinary, key and life skills among two main target groups:

Young learners would increase their knowledge and enhance their performance with digital tools to become more resilient within the modern labour market and increase their European culture and environmental awareness, transforming that learning into useful skills for their personal development and professional careers.

Trainers/teachers will experience innovative teaching approaches to integrate digital delivery, foreign languages and best practice from partner countries. That will have a positive impact on the VET responsiveness to labour market needs for recovery and reconstruction in a post-pandemic context.

Target groups:

  • VET learners – young people, attending training courses (e.g. Sectors of cultural promotion, Hospitality and Tourism):
    1. a) having previous work/volunteering experience in the cultural heritage field;

and/or

    1. b) expressing a particular interest in digital issues and/or in cultural heritage;

and/or

    1. c) at risk of schooldropoutorhavelosttheirjobsintheculturalsectorduringthelockdown

 

  • VET learners – trainers, engaged in training activities dealing with some aspects of cultural heritage field (in high schools, professional courses, higher education). The project will also involve stakeholders such as VET representatives, cultural heritage institutions and professionals, authorities, policy makers and local bodies.

 

Project Results:

    1. Digital cultural heritage, an innovative curriculum: Training methodology and best practice tailored for VET learners.
    2. DIGICULT e-learning pathway development of training modules, digital learning resources and validation.
